Book Review - What's Your Dream? By Simon Squibb

Like my digital marketing blog? Why not;

I am currently reading Simon Squibb's book What's Your Dream? and will be writing a personal review and reflection on what I thought of the book and its subject.

Reviewing What's Your Dream? by Simon Squibb

At the moment, I’m currently reading Simon Squibb’s book What’s Your Dream? and reflecting upon the book’s content and what I take from it. I’ll update this blog as I continue my journey through the pages and take time to digest and reflect on this inspiring title.

I first discovered Simon Squibb on Instagram while doom-scrolling. He immediately resonated with me by asking the public, “What’s your dream?” I was probably hooked right then, although the more of his content I watched, the more relatable he became to me. Here was a guy championing the idea of following your dreams and working for yourself, while highlighting many of the issues in today’s society that I thought only I had opinions on—or an alternative approach to fixing.

When I discovered he was launching a book, it was in my Amazon Wish List faster than it takes Alexa to start playing a song after her long-winded introduction to what she’s about to play.

Buying What's Your Dream? by Simon Squibb

Purchasing this book was a no-brainer. I was 100% going to get it, and no book review—good or bad—was going to stop me. In fact, I avoided all online reviews for this book, knowing I wanted to form my own opinions. I felt a book like this was always going to take on a different meaning for every person who read it. Just like everyone’s dream is different, yet still immensely meaningful to them personally.

To me, buying Simon Squibb’s What’s Your Dream? felt like more than just buying a book. It felt like an investment—something special that had a value beyond just a story. A value that paved the way to hope, to a possible something in the future. I was due to move house in a few weeks—a new chapter for the family and me—where ambition was going to be critical to ensuring this big move would work.

My Amazon purchase of Simon Squibb’s book arrived a few weeks before moving. The plan was to open the package and get my first glimpse of What’s Your Dream? once we had moved in and unpacked a bit, encompassing the motion of: “new house, new chapter, new dreams.”

After setting up my office in the new home, I finally got around to opening the Amazon package and revealing Simon’s book. I couldn’t help but be inspired by the cover design by Dan Simpkins. To the point that I laid it on my clean, neatly organised desk and took a photo to send to my family group with the caption: “New office, new chapter.”

The book took prime position on my desk for a week—like a motivational plaque or mascot you keep close by to stay inspired. I hadn’t even opened it yet, but there it was, sitting proudly on my desk like I was silently bragging: “Yep, I’ve got Simon Squibb’s What’s Your Dream?.”

If this book was written to inspire people, for me it had already succeeded — just from looking at the bright yellow cover with its standout wording: What’s Your Dream? I was already reeling with aspiration and excitement. What else would I find between the pages — and between the lines?
